Tavern without the fuss

The European Bee-eater

It benefits from climate change, nests on the banks of water bodies, and is as colorful as the Tauber Valley or our “Alter Satz” vineyard.

The village inn as a place of encounter. A mediator between strangers. A unifying force in rural communities. A place of enjoyment – without pretension. A cultural statement in the countryside.

We use only the best of the good – and we do so out of conviction. What we serve comes mostly from local organic producers, or straight from our own fields onto the plate. We don’t need additives or flavor enhancers. Our ingredients speak for themselves. And yes, that has – and must have – its price. For the farmers. And for the few rural restaurateurs still committed to preserving an age-old cultural heritage.

In May & June and October & November

Fridays from 6 pm at our farm

A small countryside restaurant. Two rooms. Housed in a former stable, lovingly restored in the early ’90s. Today, it’s where we celebrate life.

A beautiful vaulted cellar – a space that holds more moments than people. It seats up to 40 guests. And holds countless stories. The “Brunnenstube” – our welcoming room for wine tastings, customers, and small celebrations. A meeting point and gathering place for friends, travelers, the curious, and surprise guests from all over the world.

The cook is a woman. Simone. The heart and soul – and the better half. She’s the one who turns a farm into a home. Mother of our children, and a true culinary soul with a deep affinity for organic food. Where does this passion come from? From life on the farm. From Grandma, Mama – the women of the house. From good taste. From a joy in life and a love of nature.

Our kitchen is down-to-earth and deeply rooted. Made from the best ingredients. Prepared with love. We nourish both stomachs and hearts – and show that great ingredients truly make all the difference. No frills, just flavor. Layered and honest. Simple, but never boring.

Private Festivities & Occasions

The butterfly pea

It has existed for more than 150 million years. It is highly endangered and lives in former abandoned vineyard areas, requiring free-standing plant stems for laying its eggs.

Like the vine, it makes few demands on soil and nutrients and prefers warm, dry locations. Flax is a kind of “vine” for arable farming.
