The White Admiral

Its main habitats are climatically favored, warm south-facing slopes, especially in river and vineyard areas, where it depends on sun-exposed blackthorn and a supply of flowers.

Our A and E: ecological farming. For living soils and evergreen steep slopes, for maximum biodiversity and species variety. That’s why we work sustainably from the ground up. And not just because it’s trendy – we’ve been doing it for over thirty years. Out of conviction, as deep-rooted as the vines we tend in the Tauber Valley. All to make our small world a healthier piece of Earth.

My idea of wine: untamed, unique, and unmistakably different. With both feet in life and hands in the soil. Because good wine isn’t made in the cellar, but in the vines. The result? Authentic – but never typically Franconian. Utterly independent. Natural. With edges and character. As uncompromising as possible. That’s why every bottle contains not just the good, but the best. Because doing things halfway has never been part of our whole.

Flax

Like the vine, it makes few demands on soil and nutrients and prefers warm, dry locations. Flax is a kind of “vine” for arable farming.

Rooted and self-made

Beyond the
valleyand convention

The butterfly pea

It has existed for more than 150 million years. It is highly endangered and lives in former abandoned vineyard areas, requiring free-standing plant stems for laying its eggs.

We love what we do – because we do what we love. Rooted on the edge of the Tauber Valley. With a view beyond the village sign. Our farm. Our little gem. A rural wonder – somewhere between a family-run arable farm and a deeply individual winery. Home to three generations. And to guests from all over the world. With everything you could wish for – yet always focused on what truly matters. Right where we feel most at home. Here.

The European Bee-eater

It benefits from climate change, nests on the banks of water bodies, and is as colorful as the Tauber Valley or our “Alter Satz” vineyard.

The dragonfly

It finds its habitat along the naturally meandering course of the Tauber River. In many cultures, it is regarded as a symbol of change, transformation, lightness, and freedom.

About us

For generations – and organically since 1992 – we’ve been cultivating 90 hectares of farmland with field vegetables, bread grains, legumes, sunflowers, and clover varieties. Our farm also includes 4 hectares of steep-slope vineyards in the Tauber Valley, specifically in Röttingen and Tauberzell. The Tauber Valley is a picturesque, small side valley of the Main River – always worth a look for its beautiful landscapes.

We love what we do – because we do what we love. Rooted on the edge of the Tauber Valley. With a view that reaches beyond the village sign. Our farm. Our little gem. Somewhere between a family-run arable farm and a truly individual winery. Home to three generations – and guests from all over the world. With all the trimmings, yet always focused on what truly matters. Right where we feel most at home. Here.

We are…

We – Stephan and Simone Krämer with our children Olivia, Jule, and Joschua – look forward to welcoming you to our farm. Also living here are Grandma Ehrenfriede, Stephan’s sister Maren, and our spirited but lovable dog Elli, who’s always especially excited to greet new guests.

Our farm is located in idyllic Auernhofen – a place to breathe, enjoy, and feel at ease. Whether you’re looking for peace and quiet, want to experience nature, or simply spend quality time with your family – you’ll find just the right place here with us.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming you here in person soon!

Sustainability isn’t a trend for us – it’s a way of life. Not an empty phrase, but a mindset we live every single day. On our farm. In our vineyards. And across our fields. For us, organic farming isn’t a million-dollar business – it’s a family business. We grow organically – and flourish sustainably. We listen to nature. And to our instincts.

We don’t work to meet supermarket deadlines – we follow the rhythm of nature. The seasonal heartbeat of the year. And we give our wines the time they need to mature in the cellar. We nurture ecosystems and respect natural rhythms. We meet nature at eye level. In times of climate change, we listen even more closely – and we don’t look away. Our products aren’t industrial goods – they are living cultural treasures. Regional ambassadors. The result of genuine passion. Because for us, organic isn’t a trend – it’s a conviction. Since 1992, and for as long as our farm exists.

Elderberry

The name elder / elderberry (*Sambucus nigra*) means “holy shrub” in Old High German.
In earlier times, people planted elder as a protective plant around their homesteads.
